Expresiones de Jenniffer González sobre el atentado al expresidente Donald Trump

Es inaceptable que se pretenda atentar contra la vida de cualquier candidato, por el mero hecho de tener diferencias ideológicas. De eso se trata la libertad de expresión consagrada en nuestra Primera Enmienda, el derecho a diferir de ideas sin ser perseguido o atacado por ello.

Aunque aún no se sabe el detalle de este atentado, rogamos a Dios que la aparente herida que recibió el Presidente Trump, no sea de gravedad y pueda recuperarse y continuar su aspiración política como tiene perfecto derecho hacer.

Nuestro presidente, así como todos los funcionarios electos se escogen en elecciones democráticas y no podemos tolerar que se pretenda de manera violenta atentar contra la vida de los candidatos, esos actos son la antítesis de los fundamentos básicos bajo los cuales se fundó nuestra Nación”, expresó Jenniffer González Colón quien asistirá esta semana a la Convención del Partido Republicano.

“También quiero expresar mi sincero agradecimiento al Servicio Secreto y a los agentes de ley y orden por su valiente y pronta respuesta.”

July 13, 2024- San Juan, Puerto Rico – “More than an attack on a candidate, this is an attack on the most basic essence of American democracy.

It is unacceptable that an attempt is made on the life of any candidate, for the mere fact of having ideological differences. That is what freedom of expression enshrined in our First Amendment is all about, the right to differ ideas without being persecuted or attacked for it.

Although the details of this attack are not yet known, we pray to God that the apparent injury that President Trump received is not serious and that he can recover and continue his political aspiration as he has the perfect right to do.

“Our president, as well as all elected officials, are chosen in democratic elections and we cannot tolerate violent attempts to attack the lives of candidates; these acts are the antithesis of the basic foundations under which our Nation was founded,” expressed Jenniffer González Colón who will attend the Republican Party Convention this week.

“I also want to extend my sincere appreciation to the Secret Service and law enforcement for their courageous and prompt response” concluded Gonzalez Colón.
